SOAP is our church-wide plan for daily Bible reading and study. We read one chapter each day and journal what God shows us. Journaling is a great way to both record and process what God has spoken to us. SOAP is fun to do alone, but it’s also fun to change it up and do it with friends, family, and your small group too. So, grab your Bible, download the daily reading plan below, get comfortable in your favorite chair and join us on this great adventure!
Open your Bible to read the passage found under today’s date of your daily reading plan. Take time reading and allow God to speak to you. When you are done, look for a verse that particularly spoke to you, and write it in your journal.
What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Paraphrase and re-write the scripture in your own words in your journal.
Personalize what you have read by asking God how this applies to your life right now. Perhaps it’s instruction, encouragement, revelation of a new promise or corrections of a particular area in your life. Write how this scripture applies to you today.
This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or a greater insight on what He is showing you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation! Be sure to listen to what He has to say to you and write it down.
